pureed pumpkin is perfect ingredient for glowing skinTrust us when we say, Pumpkin is not just a skincare trend. Step aside Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Pumpkin Pie Candles, because this Antiaging Superstar is here to show you what the real fuss is all about. We are here to tell you why pumpkin is the secret ingredient to glowing skin and the key to achieving that perfect autumn glow. Pumpkin is the Secret Ingredient to Glowing Skin.

Nothing dominates the Fall season quite like pumpkin does. You know Fall is here when the iconic winter squash starts popping up on store shelves and lining front porches. Most of us know pumpkins are seasonally delicious and great for overall health but did you know it’s also a superb ingredient found in some of your favourite skincare formulations?

Pumpkin is the Secret Ingredient to Glowing Skin

Nothing says antiaging like a delicious pumpkin facial for the skin. Pumpkin seed extract provide so many skin-enriching benefits with antiaging vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and essential nutrients. The antioxidants in its enzymes gently exfoliate skin to tighten and even out skin tone. Pumpkin improves skin moisture, revs collagen production, mitigates free radical damage and reduces wrinkles. This is a miracle ingredient to getting gorgeous, glowing skin for this fall season and beyond.

Pumpkins are full of beta-carotene, one of the plant carotenoids that is converted to vitamin A in the body. It is also a good source of thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, pantothenic acid, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin C, vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), riboflavin, potassium, copper and manganese. It has an instant effect too: its enzymes break down the outer layers of the skin, working as a natural exfoliant to remove dead skin and decongesting pores. – Truth in Aging

Acne & Problematic Skin

Pumpkin extract has been shown to help alleviate acne due to its Vitamin B, Potassium and Niacin content so it reduces redness, inflammation and have antimicrobial and has oil-regulating properties. Zinc is naturally occurring in pumpkin, which can regulate sebum (oil production) and stabilize hormones.

Sun Damage & Dark Spots

Rich in antioxidants, pumpkin extract is used in skincare for skin protection and defense against UV damage. (1) Pumpkin is loaded with Vitamin C and beta-carotene, a derivative of Vitamin A, which is key to protecting from free radicals and reversing skin caused by UV damage. It also has the capability to fade dark spots with consistent use.

Antiaging

person with good skinPumpkin is loaded with antioxidant-rich Vitamins C, E, A and fatty acids that soothe skin, treat fine lines and wrinkles, detoxify skin, improve elasticity and help boost collagen production.

When used at 4%, Pumpkin Seed Extract has demonstrated that it will smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin vitality and tone. (2)

It is largely composed of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) that improve the overall texture of skin and promote blood flow.

Exfoliation

Gentle exfoliation is one key to the renewal of youthful, glowing skin. AHAs work by shedding dead cells on the skin’s surface to retexturize skin. Pumpkin contains naturally-active fruit enzymes that, like AHAs, help naturally exfoliate dead skin cells and Folate which increases blood circulation to encourage cell turnover. Skin is left looking freshly buffed, toned, radiant and baby-soft.

Hydration

As you can see, these antiaging benefits all go hand in hand. As pumpkin exfoliates, it deeply nourishes and plumps skin, leaving skin hydrated and conditioned. Nourishing Vitamin E provides hydration and moisture retention.

Pumpkin-seed oil and pumpkin-seed extract can be very emollient,” says Los Angeles–based dermatologist Jessica Wu, the author of Feed Your Face. “They help to repair your skin barrier and maintain moisture in the skin.” Allure
